Delicious Chocolate Crepes


I've been home for 4 days and I've already been cooking and baking up a storm. I made some double chocolate muffins the other day and my Mom was like "ooh, Esra's back!" I don't think anyone bakes while I'm gone haha. But hey, when you only have access to a kitchen for 4 months or so out of the year, you really start to miss making your own food! So I'll definitely be posting a few cooking/baking/recipe posts over this summer. 

This recipe is courtesy of Gina from SkinnyTaste.com. She has amazing recipes that are both healthy and delicious, which is totally proven by this chocolate crepe recipe. I make it all the time and my family loves it! Actually, after I finished making this batch of crepes, I yelled upstairs to my brother to tell him there were some on the table and he RAN down the stairs to get some! It was quiet a sight. This recipe also works for those of you that aren't as big a fans of chocolate as I am because the chocolate flavor isn't very noticeable since it only calls for a bit of cocoa. I usually pair my crepes with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella. It's mouthwatering! Although I guess the Nutella makes it less healthy, but whatever!

You'll need:
1 cup of flour
○ 2 tbsp cocoa powder
○ 1 tbsp powdered sugar
○ ½ cups 1% milk
○ 2 egg whites
○ 1 whole egg
○ 1 tsp oil

Directions:
You're going to want to put all the liquids in one bowl (milk, eggs, oil).  Then, take the powder products (flour, cocoa, powdered sugar) one at a time and sift them into the mixture. Sifting really helps because then you won't have any weird powder chunks in your crepe, which I found happened without this step (even when I mixed the batter as thoroughly as I could).
